We are looking to make a research faculty appointment at the rank of

Full Professor of International Relations (m/f/d)

Full-time (40 hours/week), starting date: June 2020

The Full Professor of International Relations will be responsible for maintaining an active research agenda, serve in a leadership role among the Faculty, participate in departmental and university service activities including supervision, and teach an appropriate course load at the undergraduate and graduate level.

The department welcomes candidates with research foci deeply embedded in state-of-the-art IR theoretical models, particularly as relates to international security, war, peace and diplomacy.

Your profile:
• PhD in Political Science, International Relations or related field, preferably in European Diplomacy and/or Conflict Studies
• Hold a Habilitation or equivalent
• A reputable scholarly track record in the areas identified above
• A documented history of successfully seeking large externally funded research grants
• Evidence of teaching excellence in English

External candidates will compete with an internal candidate with the possibility of extension of the contract.
New candidates are initially employed on a three-year contract.

As required by Austrian federal law we are obliged to disclose the minimum annual gross compensation for this position, which amounts to 71,000.- EUR (40 hours/week, all-in); the final salary depending on your relevant experience and qualification.
